Hilary and Steve Myers

Steve has worked all his life with interesting motor cars, serving his apprenticeship with Coldwell Engineering. Building, tuning and preparing single seater and clubman racing cars, saloons and rally cars. He then set up Wisewood Racing Developments where he continued racing and rally car preparation. After a move into further education and a career of over twenty years as a Lecturer in Automobile Engineering, he returned to vehicle preparation with the major emphasis on vintage and classic vehicles, being versed in some of these when they were new!

He is also responsible for the upkeep of the famous Sheffield Simplex Vintage Car belonging to and kept at ‘Kelham Island Industrial Museum Sheffield’. Up to 1986 he carried out extensive research into the local motor industry and car production which culminated in the writing of the book ‘Cars from Sheffield’

Hilary worked in the banking sector and now deals with the office side off the business, talking to customers, taking bookings and dealing with accounts and finances.

When our daughter was making her wedding plans she asked if ‘Nelly’ the Mk 2 Jaguar (which had been waiting our attention in the garage for ten years) could be used as her Wedding Car and after some considerable effort this was completed in time for the ceremony. This led to more wedding requests and we purchased a rare1949 Mk 5 Jaguar (christened ‘Lotty’) and ‘AristoCat Classic Jaguar Wedding Cars’ came into being. More recently we added ‘Grace’ the XJ6 to our stable.

We maintain the cars ourselves to a very high standard; Hilary trims them with flowers, ribbons and bows. Steve with friends and family share the driving duties.
